  1. We All Believe What We Want to Believe

Why do we believe what we believe? Within the past few months I’ve had family members leave the LDS Church, friends and family who were struggling with their testimonies, and countless encounters with persons on this blog who have told me why they’ve left the Church, why they’ve stayed in it despite not having testimonies of it, why they’ve stayed in it and why they have a testimony, etc. Is it because these people have been exposed to different information? Have they had different experiences? Certainly we all have different experiences and are exposed to different information, but is that … Read the rest of this entry »

  2. My Mormon friend affiliates with someone who is anti-Mormon, is he breaking his temple covenants?

As asked by Ann Mere here.

My question: I have a mormon friend whose husband is an anti-mormon Christian active in a ministry to save people out of mormonism. When he asks his mormon wife about the mormon church she will never have a discussion with him. Would she be able to get a temple recommend when she is married to someone who actively opposes mormonsm?

He is the first personage known by name to be described as a Breton “king” and he probably ruled a warband with members drawn from throughout Brittany. He had a stronghold defended by ditches, hedges, and marshes.

That’s all well and good, but I have a simpler answer. I believe the vast majority of those 60,500 searches … Read the rest of this entry »

  5. How to Defend Mormonism Using a Blog

As of this post it has been four months since I launched this blog. The site receives just over 200 visits per month at the moment, with virtually all that traffic coming as a result of the blog ranking in Google for keywords like “mormon beliefs, “mormon culture”, “mormon myths”, “joseph smith is a fraud”, “mormon dna”, “mormons and abortion”, “where did the book of mormon come from”, “do mormons believe in evolution”, “do mormons believe they will get their own planet”, and “joseph smith education level”.

While 200 visitors is not a huge amount, relatively speaking (I have blogs … Read the rest of this entry »
