I didn't see this until now so even though I realize someone might not respond right now as we are so close to Christmas and people are busy, this is on my mind so I will answer while I am thinking about this.

Joshua said, "These are all great scriptures, which Mormons believe, but what do they have to do with the issue of whether Christ and Satan are spirit-brothers?"

Because the scriptures I qouted say that Jesus has always been God, even when He walked the earth as a only perfect sinless man there has ever been, that He has always been God, and that He has never been merely a spirit child who somehow became God.

So He has either always been God so He couldn't be the spirit brother of Satan and us who created all of us or He is the spirit brother of Satan.

Mormons believe that God and Christ are two distinct beings, united in purpose. God is the father of Christ, both of Christ's spirit as well as Christ's body. God is also the father of Satan's spirit. But whereas Christ did the will of his father, Satan rebelled in heaven and was cast out, never to be redeemed.

Kent answered that question in his first sentence, "Jesus Christ is not Satan’s brother as He was God, He is God, and He has always been God" This is true according to the Bible. Jesus is akin to all of mankind because He took on human flesh and became Man. But essentially and inherently, He has no equal as He is GOD. Do Mormon's believe that God's brother is Satan? And if so, who is their father?

Jesus Christ is not Satan’s brother as He was God, He is God, and He has always been God and while He did come for a time to earth as a perfect man to be the perfect sacrifice to take away the sins of the world by His dying on the cross in our place, His death on the cross let’s us put on His righteousness and not our own which by our own efforts we wouldn’t be worthy enough in 10,000 lifetimes.

The purpose of the Old Testament prophets and the animal sacrifices of innocent unblemished animals foretold the coming of Jesus’ death on the cross to take away the sins of the world.

John 1:29
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

So Saved= With Heavenly Father for eternity while unsaved= in outer darkness (Hell) where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth and saved does not mean that we are just given a chance to progress to be worthy enough to be in Heavenly Father’s presence as that is a different gospel.

John 1 clearly says Jesus (the Word) is God and this is backed up by Exodus 3 in which God calls Himself I AM and by John 8 where Jesus calls Himself I AM. Also, Jesus, who is not a created being like Satan, created everything because created beings don’t create as they are the creation but not the creator.

John 1:1-3
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Exodus 3:14
And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

John 8:58
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM.
